Card Security Code (CSC)

Card Security Code (CSC) Definitions:

The last three digits of the number printed on the reverse of the card (usually found on the signature strip). In the case of an American Express card, it will be four digits on the front of the card. Card Security Code (CSC) is also known as CVV2 for Visa, CVC2 for MasterCard or CID for American Express. The purpose of the use of the CSC in a card-not-present transaction is to verify that the person placing the order is actually in possession of the card.
