E-Clear respects your individual privacy and seeks to protect your personal data at all times. The following information explains how and why we gather your personal data, how we use it, and why we store it for a certain period. The amount of personal information held by E-Clear will depend on your relationship with the Company, and on the particular services that you use. Some of the sections outlined below may therefore not be relevant to you.
Personal information
E-Clear collects and uses your personal information to administer, support, improve and obtain feedback on its services, as well as to detect and prevent faults, breaches of its network security, the law, or its terms of contract.
If you are a registered service user, E-Clear may contact you to obtain feedback on the service it provides and also on any improvements that you feel could be made.
Personal contact/direct marketing
If you have agreed to such contact, E-Clear may also contact you about any of its other services to which you do not subscribe, but which it feels may be of interest to you. Such contact may be by post, fax, email, instant message and occasionally (in certain limited circumstances) by telephone.
You can inform E-Clear at any time if you no longer wish to be contacted through direct marketing. Simply send an email to info@eclear.com with the words "personal details" in the subject line. Once your request has been receive you will no longer receive invitations for events or free trials.
Help Desk
All telephone calls to the E-Clear Help Desk may be recorded for quality control, regulatory or monitoring purposes.
Collecting of information
E-Clear’s Customer Relationship database is updated on a regular basis, either via direct contact with the client, or when they use one of the services available.

  • Information provided: This information includes your contact details, support problems, details around participation in events, prize draws or surveys and certain relevant details of your interests and preferences. Information may also be obtained as a result of authentication or identity checks, as required by anti-money laundering laws.
  • Information collected:If you are a registered user then E-Clear also gathers information about how you use our services, such as the times and generic types of data accessed, volume of the services used, and traffic data.

Storage methods
The information stored on E-Clear’s Customer Relationship database may be retained and used by the Company for a reasonable period, in order to reflect our need to answer queries or resolve problems, provide improved and new services to clients and also to fulfill and comply with any data retention requirements requested by law. This means we may therefore retain information after an individual ceases to use E-Clear’s services, or after the individual has ceased interacting with us. Details of money laundering checks, user authentication or verification checks and details of trading, or for other regulated activities, will be retained for as long as the law, or regulatory body requires.
Information and third parties
Except where the law permits, or unless you specifically agree, E-Clear does not sell or rent your personal data to others outside the Company.
Newsletters
With some services you are given the opportunity to receive a related newsletter by email or post. You can choose to stop receiving this publication or the E-Clear Magazine at any time, simply by following the cancellation instructions.
Credit checks
E-Clear may in some instances carry out credit checks with credit reference agencies, or we may follow up references.
Security and staff awareness
E-Clear has developed strict corporate policies governing information technology. These polices cover areas such as access control, authentication, audit, monitoring, alarms, data storage and back up, as well as transmission standards and environmental integrity. E-Clear employees are subject to a code of conduct which requires them to adhere to both privacy principles and the Company’s privacy compliance programme.
